i think this is a good interpretation of how to use non local color. you've done a good job making the fruit look rotten, old or decomposing more similarly to how one would imagine flesh decomposing. the fruit itself is not over done and the more extreme surroundings reinforce this. its compositionally interesting and not how most people imagine a fruit bowl on a picture plane (usually dead center). the environment is intriguing, i feel as if i've stumbled upon this rotting fruit bowl in the forest or jungle. overall i think this is a successful image.
I love the title! The object in left bottom corner is making me wonder...what is is? Interesting choice of non local colors yet I would like to see taking it even further with colors on the fruit.
Is that dog s--t in the far left corner? Is it vomit? The fruit basket is an effective commentary on the whole stilllife aesthetic and the trasience of physical materials, such as fruit. But, I feel like the pile of Poo(?)vomit? in the corner may be a personal joke of which I do not know the punchline.
